Sometimes I see global warming as the panic button we need to get off the oil. Even if it's not real, the problems we will have with oil dependance will be. If it is real we need to do something ASAP. Either way, we end up addressing a real problem.

The cap and trade thing will cost money for everyone. It puts american industry and yet another unfair disadvantage. January was the 13th coldest in Ohio thanks to unusual chinook winds that blew into Alaska and pushed their cold air down to us. Temps in Alaska went from forty-something below to + 57 (at Fairbanks), bringing rain, melting snow, and some flooding.
