My Worst.
I met a girl at a party that was smoking hot. 5'9 auburn hair blue/grey eyes. She approached me and I was floored that as good as the package was on the outside, she was smart as a tack and very witty. Id just gone through a divorce and without leading with that fact, it came up. She didn't have a problem with it and I didn't feel the need to talk about it anymore than that but she knew right away that I had kids and still wanted to keep talking. We ended up meeting for lunch a few days later after some emails and phone calls. Great conversation, financially independent, and also found out she was a pilot for a large private jet company who loves college football. I started thinking God was trying to throw me a bone after the debacle I had gotten out of. We would talk a couple times a week and went out maybe once a week. We always met at the place we were going so it was never akward, just very good conversations and relatively innocent flirting. We meet up in Dublin one night to have a few with a couple she was friends with. Fun evening, I was driving so I stayed sober, and her friends were also very cool people to hang out with. Then out of the blue, my tall red head says to her girlfriend, "We need to take these guys to a good strip club". I start thinking in back of my mind "Dear Penthouse, I always thought these stories were made up". We go to the club (im not a huge fan in general, but it was fun) and she is buying lap dance after lap dance. Asking me which girl I think is the hottest one in there so she can buy a dance from her and I can watch. Remember, I just got through a 2+ year divorce, so I had no visions of searching for the one. If I was, it would have been a little bit of a turn off, but I wasn't, so hey HEY hey. She started getting really drunk so we (he friends boyfriend and myself) thought it was best to head home (back to her friends house). We get back there and they immediately go to the bedroom and shut the door. This girl starts undressing and acts like if she doesn't have me right now, she will explode. I was too sober and she was too drunk and I just couldn't do it. I know, AV, Im a pussy. So I offer to drive her home. She gets pissed and tells me to leave. I ask if her friends will give her a ride in the morning and she basically tells me to go to hell. Oh well, I thought. She's drunk and she'll appreciate this in the morning. Well I head home and about noon the next day I get a call. "Why the hell did you leave me here?". Im thinking, wow, seriously? "I thought you were getting a ride from your friends". She says "They aren't leaving the house till 6 tonight and I dont want to wait that long". I started laughing, which really pissed her off. I agreed to come get her and take her to her car which was at her work. I drive over to pick her up and I can tell she's actually still a bit drunk. She proceeds to yell at me from Dublin to the Airport. As we pull in she gets out of my car and is still yelling at me. The window is down, she shuts the door and is still yelling at me. I just sort of chuckled and said "later", and drove off. Well a couple of days pass and Im feeling really good about my decision to not follow through on my opportunity that night. She then calls me, really upset and says she wants to talk. I say, OK...talk. She then starts telling me how she lost her pilots license because she was diagnosed with severe depression. Her Dr. told her that she was bi-polar, but apparently once you have that diagnosis, you lose your pilots license forever (good call on that if you ask me). She talked him into calling it depression so that her license was just suspended for medical reasons rather than revoked. She said she needs me to read more on Bipolar disorder so we can see each other again and I can understand her better. I told her that I can try to be a friend to her, but I have no interest in dating and that Im sorry if thats cruel but I have 2 kids. She did a 180 so quickly that night that I felt uncomfortable that she lived in the same state as my kids, let alone meet them. Apparently the medication she was on doesn't mix well with a pint of gin with a splash of tonic.
Anyway thought it would fun to share stories of the ones that we're glad that got away.
