The Reps pick on Obama for being a nobody. Realistically we need to plan for McCain dropping dead, then we're left with this nobody. I am now taking
nominations for Favre's VP.

All the rhetoric and unsupported assumptions aside regarding what voting block is needed to win the Presidency, the bottom line is that no one wins the
Presidency without the white male vote. Is there any doubt now with his VP selection that McCain knows this? If you still doubt, just take a look at the
democrat hottie thread and compare them to Governor Palin. And if that doesn't convince you, not only is she a hottie, Palin packs major heat.
This is huge for 2012 too. If McCain is one and out like he says he will be, Hitlary would have a difficult time winning in 2012 against another woman.

Realistically, how hard can it be to be governor of Alaska? Lots of cruise ship pandering, dealing with Elk on some issues, a little weather.

[My take on this choice if I were a Conservative Campaign Manager/Advisor to McCain]: I don't believe that McCain VP choice will help him
get elected so it's not a good choice (imho). I would have picked Mitt Romney who I really really like and admire even more then McCain. This choice
might have sealed the deal for Obama who's going to become the most Left Wing Liberal President we've ever had.
McCain (imo) needed to select someone who's more to the Right of the Right Wing/Conservative party then he himself is (imo) because I believe that
McCain might get a decent amount of Hillary Clinton supporters because she was to the Right of her Left Wing/Liberal Party more in line with McCain. McCain
was on his way and I think he blew his big chance with this choice not because she isn't a good candidate intellectually because she might be, but more so
because she won't help him enough in regard to receiving more votes being viewed as a women, from nowhereville/Alaska. McCain needed to bring his party
together and this wasn't the candidate to do that. Yes I know some women will vote for him now, but is this country ready for a women VP? Just like is
this country ready for Obama? McCain created a question mark that he didn't previously have that Obama did. McCain had that edge over Obama in that
regard in the eyes of the voters, but he doesn't anymore in selecting this women VP candidate who I know very little about politically as well.
[Conversely]: I have an idea what McCain was thinking though with this VP selection. He might have figured this will sure up the women voters and I'll still hopefully get the Hillary supporters and this won't turn off the far Right because they'll still vote for me over Obama even if they're not happy with might VP selection. We'll find out if it was a good choice though soon enough won't we. However, there were still better choices out there (imo).

I can't speak for you, but if I had a choice of an experienced president and inexperienced VP, or an inexperienced president and an experienced, VP, I would take the experienced president. You libs are trying to compare them when they are apples and oranges. Also, what in the hell does the population of the state have to do with it? She has more experience in an executive position that Obama has at all... You guys are so nervous you can't think straight. |

If Alaska is the last frontier, then authentic frontier gibberish is now officially a dead language. Governor Palin's speech was spectacular - intelligent,
authentic and far from gibberish. This will bode well for her in 2012 when she will likely take on Hitlary.

Hell, I don't know who she is, and I want her to be POTUS now. I had no plan of watching the convention, that has changed. I would watch state of the
unions, and even volunteer in her campaign office.
Brilliant Choice. Kind of an Austin Powers choice, women want to be her, men want to be with her. |

Zip,
Yawn. I'm not scared at all. I honestly believe that Pawlenty, Ridge or Romney would have been a better choice. This smacks of politics after McCain's been pledging to put the country above them. Anyhow, size of the state has much to do with it. Many states in the US have economies larger than most nations in the world. Alaska does not. I agree about the VP/President thing, but McCain's age blurs that line. Like it or not, he's extremely old and old people tend to die. |

You can come from an insignificant state if you gain a large percentage of voters that are voting with their dicks.
